Razlan steps down as acting MAM CEO

SEPANG: Datuk Razlan Razali has resigned from his position as acting chief executive officer (CEO) of Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM).

Razlan’s resignation is part of a restructuring programme for MAM, as Razlan focuses on his roles as Sepang International Circuit (SIC) CEO as well as team principal for Petronas Yamaha Sepang Racing Team (SRT).

His permanent replacement as MAM CEO is lawyer Muizz Azli.

Razlan said he is confident in Muizz’s ability to lead the organisation.

“Muizz is suitable for this position, as he has dealt with legal cases involving motorsports in the past. I believe he is capable of restructuring MAM and taking it to the next level,” said Razlan.

Mia Sharizman, who is currently Renault Sport Racing academy director, was MAM CEO prior to Razlan taking over the reigns as acting CEO.

MAM was established in 2009 as a sanctioning body and also to assist clubs, event organisers, officials, competitors, commercial operators and sponsors to further boost the development of motorsports in the country.
