KUALA LUMPUR: Nazim Azman is ready to step up to the next level in his racing career when he competes in his maiden Formula 3 season.
The 20-year-old secured the third seat at Formula 3 team Hitech GP after pre-season testing in Bahrain recently.
The Kuala Lumpur-born Nazim
moved up from the Euroformula Open series after finishing a creditable fourth in the points last year with one win in his debut season.
Nazim previously spent two years in British F3 and won four races. He also raced in Formula 4 in the Italian, North European Zone, South East Asia and Spanish championships.
Despite his experience in junior single-seater formula races, Nazim is aware he still has much to improve on in Formula 3.
"I am really excited to be stepping up to the F3 series with Hitech GP. The team is an established championship winner. It will provide me with the perfect platform to focus on racing against some of the best young talents in the world.
"It will not be easy but having raced and won in both the British and Euroformula Open series, I believe I am ready for the challenge," said Nazim, who completes the Hitech line-up with Kaylen Frederick of Germany and French-Algerian driver Isack Hadjar.
The F3 event is a support race for the F1 world championship which flags off in Bahrain on March 18.
