KUALA LUMPUR: Second seed Hisshan Nair Tan was upset by joint fifth seed Adam Ragab of Egypt in the boys' Under-11 quarter-finals of the British Junior Open in Birmingham today.
The Negri Sembilan player, who won the REDtone International Junior Open Under-11 title in Kuala Lumpur last month, lost 10-12, 8-11, 7-11.
In the girls' Under-19, top seed Fayrouz Aboelkheir of Egypt defeated joint fifth seed K. Sehveetrraa 11-7, 11-3, 11-3.
Joint ninth seed Doyce Lee went down 11-6, 11-6, 11-9 to joint third seed Barb Sameh of Egypt in the girls' Under-17.
Hisshan's elder sister, Harleein, will face joint fifth seed Savannah Moxham of Belgium tonight. She is the only Malaysian player left in the tournament.
