Rozi discharged, to report back at Bukit Jalil on Sept 30

KUALA LUMPUR: National backup cyclist Nur Rozi Yanti Mohd Rodzi has been discharged from hospital and has returned to her hometown in Simpang Empat, Perlis today.

Rozi had been admitted to the Kajang Hospital on September 5 and was transferred to KPJ Damansara Specialist Hospital a week later after her condition stabilised.

She is expected to report back to the National Sports Complex in Bukit Jalil on September 30.

Malaysian National Cycling Federation deputy president Datuk Naim Mohamad said an assessment of Rozi's recovery will be made when she returns to Bukit Jalil.

"Rozi will continue to recuperate at her home in Perlis where a local clinic will be attending to her dressing procedures," said Naim.

"An assessment will be conducted by the coaches when she returns and if she is deemed fit, she will undergo a training regime suitable for her."

Rozi was hit by her team’s support van and ended up underneath it during a routine training ride from Bukit Jalil to Mantin on September 5.

The incident occurred on the way back to Bukit Jalil on the LEKAS highway near the Kajang Utama exit.
