The 25-year-old, who will be tying the knot in two months. time, teamed up with Saritha Cham Nong and Fatin Nurfatehah Mat Salleh to win the women's compound team title at Bukit Jalil.
“I am really happy to be able to help the team win the gold. I would like to dedicate this win to my fiance Ahmad Syafiq Azim Saeri, it is the perfect gift for us both." said Syazhera.
Ahmad Syafiq was among the 400 fans that turned up to witness Malaysia’s women's final against Vietnam yesterday.
"My two senior teammates gave me a lot of advice and helped me remain calm and focused. I believe I did quite well, the crowd was also amazing,” she said.
"This is a good start for me and I hope to continue winning more on the international stage."
Saritha and Fatin had joined Nor Rizah Ishak to win the team compound gold in Singapore two years ago.
