KL coach takes his boys to task

KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur coach Saiful Munir Mansor is disappointed with his boys for their lackadaisical approach

This has led to them being held to a goalless draw by Perlis in their group format semi-final match in the TNB-1Mas Under-14 Championships at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil today.

A win would have seen them move a step closer towards securing a spot in the final ahead of their last semi-final match against Perak tomorrow.

Munir said: "This was not their normal game. The boys had their chances but could not convert. They did not listen to orders and it all went wrong.

"I think they were just overconfident as Perak had easily beaten Perlis 3-0 yesterday and they thought they could do the same. They forgot the basics."

KL, who finished third in the tournament last year, now have no choice but to beat Perak.

"Tomorrow (against Perak) is a do-or-die match for us. I just hope the players do not give up and get disheartened."
