Pandelela admits she's not perfect

KUALA LUMPUR: National diving queen, Pandelela Rinong admits that she needs to improve on her technique at the start of her dive if she is to better her achievements at the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia next month.

Apart from this, the 25-year-old Sarawak born diver also said that shee needs to maintain her level of fitness for the second largest Games in the world which is scheduled to take place from April 4-15.

“I feel there should not be any problems in terms of consistency but perhaps I will need to improve on my entry (beginning of dive).

“I must also maintain my level of fitness as well as strength,” said Pandelela during a Podium Programme press conference at the National Sports Institute (NSI) here earlier today (Tuesday).

For the record, Pandelela won gold in the 10m women’s platform at the 2010 New Delhi edition and silver in the same event at the 2014 Glasgow edition of the Games.

“There is no question of injury and I do not have any major problems because I frequent NSI for treatment and the recovery process is going very, very well. So I am hoping to better my achievements from New Delhi and Glasgow,” said Pandelela.

In Gold Coast, Pandelela will be competing in two events which are the 10m individual platform and synchronised events.
