AHF sign four-year partnership with AirAsia

KUALA LUMPUR: Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) received a boost on Saturday when they signed a four-year partnership with AirAsia.

The deal, at RM150,000 a year, will enable AHF officials to travel to AirAsia destinations to officiate at tournaments or conduct development work.

“And if Malaysia are involved in a final in any of AirAsia destinations, we might even charter a flight like we did for Harimau Malaya fans to support the national team,” said AirAsia chairman Datuk Kamarudin Meranun.

AHF chief executive Datuk Tayyab Ikram said: “We are excited to team up with AirAsia who truly shares our vision for the future of hockey in this region.

“This new partnership is important in the hope of promoting hockey in Asia,” said Tayyab after the federation’s executive board meeting here.
