Natasha Roslan was in blazing form as she regained her lead in the qualifying round of the AMF World Cup in Palembang yesterday.
The 23-year-old, who led after the first day before dropping a rung on Tuesday, posted lines of 215, 166, 210, 226, 222, 186 yesterday for a three-day 3,768 total after 18 games to snatch the lead back from American Kelly Kulick.
The 42-year-old Kulick, who was on fire on Tuesday, suffered a slump as she managed 3,725 to finish second while Russia’s Maria Koshel occupied third spot on 3,710.
In the men’s competition, Adrian Ang is on a do-or-die mission to finish in the top-24 bracket.
The 31-year-old, who has struggled for good scores, once again couldn’t step it up as he only posted 3,581 to be placed 23rd.
The Penang-born will need to bring out his A game today as only four pins separate him from 25th-placed Vladimir Sverchkov of Russia.
“I really need a good last series tomorrow (today) to qualify for the next round,” admitted Adrian.
“The lanes are tricky, so I need to stay calm in order to score a good series tomorrow.”
South Africa’s Francois Louw leads on 4,210, followed by Germany’s Oliver Morig (3,900) and Finland’s Niko Oksanen (3,807).
