The national hockey team finally claimed a win on their Tour of Britain when they defeated Beeston HC 3-1 at the Nottingham Hockey Centre on Friday.
Penalty corner specialist Razie Rahim led his team to victory with a hat-trick in the 12th, 35th and 42nd minutes.
It was the Speedy Tigers' first win in four matches.
Malaysia will play Ireland, Wales and France in their remaining matches. Matches against Ireland and France will offer world ranking points.
National coach Arul Selvaraj said the three-hour journey by bus to Nottingham was worth the time and effort, as his players finally broke their winless streak against club sides.
"My players controlled the match and were more organised today," said Arul on Friday. "We will now prepare for our two Test matches against Ireland."
