Aifa conquers another Egyptian

Aifa Azman is looking unstoppable in the Malaysian Open after storming into the semi-finals yesterday.

The 19-year-old rose to the challenge to claim an impressive 11-9, 11-9, 11-5 win over Egypt's world 35 Hana Ramadan in the quarter-finals at the National Squash Centre.

World No 69 Aifa bagged her third Egyptian scalp, having beaten world No 47 Mayar Hany and world No 31 Yathreb Adel in the first and second rounds respectively.

"I'm very happy to win 3-0 because I had a tough game yesterday. So, it's really nice to come through and win in three.

"I think I cried a little because I was just happy to be through to my first (World Tour) Bronze event semi-finals," she said.

Aifa will next meets world No 19 Danielle Letourneau of Canada, who took out world No 14 and second seed Nadine Shahin of Egypt 11-4, 9-11, 11-7, 11-8.

In men's event, world No 18 Ng Eain Yow was on fire as he routed world No 31 Nicolas Mueller of Switzerland, 11-6, 11-5, 11-5.

"I'm definitely feeling good in this tournament. I'm here to win the tournament, so I'm ready to do whatever it takes," said Eain Yow.

He will next face either top seed Miguel Rodriguez of Colombia or United States' Shahjahan Khan in the last four.
