THT thrash NurInsafi to stay in title hunt

KUALA LUMPUR: Terengganu Hockey Team (THT) whipped winless NurInsafi Sporting 7-2 in the Premier Division of the Malaysia Hockey League (MHL) to stay in the title hunt today.

THT have to maintain their form in the hope of winning the title after surprisingly dropping points against Maybank (2-2) and UiTM HA (1-1).

As for NurInsafi, they have lost all of their matches so far.

Sufi Ismat (seventh), Marhan Jalil (28th), Faizal Saari (33rd), Arif Syafie Ishak (34th), Syarman Mat Tee (37th) and Ismail Abu (42nd, 59th) scored for THT, while Azwar Rahman (14th) and Khairulamirin Jalil (43rd) replied for NurInsafi.

THT coach Roslan Jamaluddin still could not believe his team threw two valuable points against UiTM HA on Feb 24.

"I am still frustrated with that draw with UiTM because we lost two valuable points in a winnable game. UiTM were more disciplined and determined than my players in that match.

"However, we are still in the hunt for the league title. We cannot afford to drop points in the second round," said Roslan.
