Shah storms into Asiad keirin semi-finals

HANGZHOU: Cyclist Shah Firdaus Sahrom edged closer to another Asian Games medal after reaching the keirin semi-finals today.

The sprint bronze medallist topped Heat 3 at the Chun'an Jieshou Sports Centre Velodrome.

The Malaysian will be vying for a spot in the final with Japanese heavyweights Shinji Nakano, Kaiya Ota, South Korean Kang Seo Jun, India's David Beckham Elkatohchoongo and Taiwan's Kang Shih-Feng.

Malaysia's Fadhil Zonis, however, could only finish sixth in Heat I, and will have to bounce back in the repechage to reach the semi-finals.
