Kotex Elimin8tors eSports team aim to shine in MLBB League

KUALA LUMPUR: All girls Kotex Elimin8tors eSports team aim to sizzle in Malaysia's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang MLBB Profesional League (MPL).

The girls - Nurul Effa Fauzana Fauzi "Fafau", Siti Sarah Mahadzir, Intan Syafinaz Che Halim, Afrina Balqis Ibdhi Har Ali and Nurul Ain Salshabilla Nasharudin - will get a RM100,000 sponsorship from the "Kotex She Can" programme.

This is for a comprehensive ecosystem designed to enhance the team's gameplay skill and knowledge.

The package includes a professional MPL coach, full spec equipment, a daily six to eight hours intensive training regime, an analyst to provide insights, a gaming studio along with a fully furnished hostel and a monthly allowance.

The team will be coached by Ariff Iswandi "Amoux" who has a proven track record in MPL Malaysia, having guided several teams to podium finishes.

Team leader Nurul Effa said the support from Kotex is a boost for women and eSports in Malaysia after the unveiling ceremony at the ESI Hall @ Spacerubix on Thursday.

"It's a big challenge, usually it's the men who are expected to play games and go to higher levels. We, Kotex Elimin8tors, aim to show that we can achieve the same as the men's team," said the Phnom Penh Sea Games bronze medallist.

"It's a big responsibility as we are representing women eSports athletes and we need to be a good example and a role model.

"The task to lead the team is not that hard although we have a young team. The players know that they need to be professional, so it's easier with this mindset to do well.

"It's good to see Kotex supports us, everything is complete. We can get good training and challenge the men's team. Other major companies could also follow Kotex's footsteps and help with women's sports."

On the appointment of team's coach Amoux, Nurul Effa said a seasoned hand is a major boost for the team to improve.

"We hope we can go further under Amoux. He has coached top teams locally and abroad, and we are looking forward to learning from him."
