KUALA LUMPUR: Team SMG secured their spot in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) M5 World Championship after reaching the Wild Card final on Sunday at JioSpace, Petaling Jaya.
After topping Group A with three wins from three matches, the Malaysian team went on to down Peru's Imperio 3-1 in the crossover elimination match.
The top two teams from the Wild Card will head to Manila for the fifth edition of the world meet on Dec 2-17.
This will be Team SMG's second appearance at the world meet after making their debut at the M3 in Singapore two years ago.
Another Malaysian team, HomeBois, booked their M5 World Championships berth by virtue of being crowned Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Malaysia (MPL MY) Season 12 champions in October.
HomeBois defeated Team SMG 4-3 in the final in Bukit Jalil.
