Sivasangari falls to world champ Nour in Florida

KUALA LUMPUR: World No. 14 S. Sivasangari's challenge in the Florida Open ended on Friday following a quarter-final defeat to top seed Nour El Sherbini.

World champion Nour won 11-8, 11-9, 11-3 in 34 minutes.

The world No. 1 Egyptian will face fourth seed Olivia Weaver of the United States for a place in the final.

Sivasangari will now shift her focus to the Tournament of Champions (TOC) in New York, which begins on Wednesday.

Ninth seed Sivasangari, who received a first-round bye, will open her campaign against American Sabrina Sobhy.
