Eain Yow falls early in New York

KUALA LUMPUR: National No. 1 Ng Eain Yow started his first competition of the year with a defeat at the Tournament of Champions (TOC) in New York on Thursday.

The world No. 19, who received a first round bye, lost 11-6, 11-8, 11-3 to third seed Paul Coll of New Zealand.

Asian champion Eain Yow was the only Malaysian in the men's draw.

In the women's draw, Malaysia's S. Sivasangari and Rachel Arnold will be in action in the second round on Friday.
