KUALA LUMPUR: Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh confirmed that the ministry's cloud facility was hacked on Saturday.
Yeoh, however, said that the damage caused by the hackers was minimal, and no sensitive information was leaked.
"The Youth and Sports Ministry's cloud was hacked on Saturday afternoon. We then reported it to the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) and CyberSecurity Malaysia," said Yeoh today.
"We have taken swift action. At present, the situation is under control, and we have implemented several technical interventions.
"The files hacked were only a few administration files. They do not involve any other parties, and no private information was compromised.
"Everything is under control."
Cloud services can host files with various features, including accessibility from multiple locations and devices.
