KUALA LUMPUR: Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh confirmed that the ministry's cloud facility was hacked on Saturday.
Yeoh, however, said that the damage done was minimal and no sensitive information was leaked.
"The Youth and Sports Ministry's cloud was hacked on Saturday afternoon. This was reported to the National Cyber Security Agency and CyberSecurity Malaysia," said Yeoh today.
"We have taken swift action and for now the situation is under control. We have also implemented a number of technical interventions.
"The files hacked were only a number of administration files. They do not involve any other parties, there was no private information."
Cloud services can, among other features, host files that can be accessed from multiple locations and devices.
