JAKARTA: Indonesia reported a record one-day tally of 2,657 Covid-19 cases on Thursday, bringing the total caseload in the republic to 70,736.
Meanwhile, Indonesian government spokesman on Covid-19 matters, Achmad Yurianto, said the death toll now stands at 3,417.
"For the period from noon yesterday to noon today, there were 58 more deaths; while 13,732 patients are still being monitored," he said at his daily news conference on Covid-19, Bernama reported.
East Java Province recorded the highest number of deaths at 1,125, followed by Jakarta (671), Central Java (225) and South Kalimantan (209).
East Java also has the highest number of positive cases at 15,484, followed by Jakarta (13,488).
