SINGAPORE: Singapore has preliminarily confirmed an additional 481 cases of Covid-19 infection in the republic, with the vast majority being foreign workers staying in dormitories.
With the new figure, the total infection tally for the city-state now stands at 50,369 cases.
In its brief noon data released here today, Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH) said based on its investigations so far, there are five cases in the community, all of whom are work pass holders.
In addition, the MOH said there are four imported cases who were placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.
In its full data released late yesterday, Singapore classified 667 of its cases as imported, 2,160 as community transmissions, and 47,061 as dorm residents.
As at noon yesterday, 45,352 cases have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.
There were 148 confirmed cases still in hospital.
Of these, most are stable or improving, and no case is in the intensive care unit.
A total of 4,361 patients who have symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19 have been isolated and are being cared for at community facilities.
To date, 27 people have died from complications due to Covid-19 here. - Bernama
