New Delhi: A man died after being punched on the nose by his wife when he refused to take her to Dubai for a birthday celebration, reported The Times of India.
The shocking incident occurred at the 36-year-old man's residence in Wanavdi, Pune on Friday.
The victim, identified as Nikhil Khanna, a 36-year-old businessman in the construction industry, had been married to his wife, Renuka, 38, for six years.
According to a senior police officer stationed at Wanavdi Police Station, the couple had a dispute because Nikhil did not take Renuka to Dubai to celebrate her birthday.
"The incident occurred on Friday evening. According to the investigation, the couple quarreled because Nikhil did not take Renuka to Dubai to celebrate her birthday and did not give her an expensive gift on her birthday and anniversary.
"Renuka was also upset with Nikhil for not showing enthusiasm for her desire to go to Delhi to celebrate her birthday with some relatives," he said.
The police further informed that during the altercation, Renuka punched Nikhil's face.
"The impact of the punch was so strong that Nikhil's nose and several teeth broke. Bleeding profusely, Nikhil lost consciousness," he added.
Meanwhile, the police have filed a case against Renuka under IPC Section 302 and detained her for further investigation.
