MUAR: Customers can be seen gathering at a quaint stall or "warong" in Simpang Baba near here to purchase a very unique and popular dish called "Bubur Hantu".
Though the name may sound creepy, this porridge is very popular among the locals in the area.
Muhammad Naili Jazli Mohd Jamsari, started the small business as an extra source of income and to offer employment to ex-frontliners after vaccination centres in Muar were closed.
He currently has six young helpers to run the "warong" from 4pm to midnight daily.
Along the road from Muar to Pagoh, one will also notice a signboard with the words "Yok Mangan" which means "come eat" to welcome customers to the stall.
Naili's "ghostly" porridge comes with seven ingredients - all in one bowl.
"It is said that the house behind my warong is haunted, and that is how my porridge dish got its name", he said.
Yayasan Pelajaran Johor had also shown its support by providing more furniture and other essentials for the "warong" so more customers can patronise the stall.
