Waterslide has 'faulty design'

A VISITOR to a resort in Keningau, Sabah, wants the local authority to look into a defective waterslide at the facility.

The parent, who wanted to be known only as Tan, said the waterslide was dangerous to patrons, especially children.

“I think the slide has a faulty design. My 4-year-old daughter and I were injured when we went down the slide.

“We hit the side of the waterslide several times before reaching the pool.”

Tan hoped the local authority would instruct the resort operator to stop people from using the faulty waterslide.

Keningau district officer Yusop Osman said the waterslide was a new item at the resort.

“According to our development plan, the local authority had approved only the swimming pool at the resort. There is no approval for a waterslide.

“As such, we will take action against the resort operator based on the complaint lodged by the visitor.”
