Upgrade of Sook district still in boundary determination phase

KENINGAU: The process of upgrading the small district of Sook to a full district is still in the boundary determination phase involving the districts of Tongod, Nabawan, Tambunan, and Keningau, Sabah Media reported.

Sabah Minister of Youth and Sports Datuk Ellron Angin stated that this includes obtaining approval from representatives of the involved districts regarding the boundaries.

"I understand that we are only waiting for their letters; basically, they have agreed and supported the full district status of Sook to expedite its declaration," he said.

He made these remarks during an Iftar event with community leaders of the Small District of Sook, educators, pre-university students from SMK Sook, and the Jasamu Dikenang Council at the Sook National Secondary School hall yesterday.

Ellron, who is also the Sook assemblyman, emphasised that district delineation is crucial to ensure that all matters, applications, and development projects to be implemented do not overlap between different districts.

Earlier in the event, 15 recipients among underprivileged students received basic necessity assistance worth RM150 each.
