Johor folk see red over rubbish dumped in green lung

A GREEN lung for a housing area in Pasir Gudang, Johor, has been turned into a dumpsite

Old furniture, planks and other rubbish are dumped there by residents of nearby Taman Kota Masai and outsiders.

A resident, who wanted to be known only as Zack, said this had been going on for several months and complaints to the local authorities had fallen on deaf ears.

“The area is not a dumpsite because there is greenery in the surrounding areas, but people keep dumping rubbish there,” he said of the area in Jalan Cempedak 5.

“If the dumping continues, this area could turn into a breeding ground for Aedes mosquitoes, rats and flies.

“The authorities need to act against those who dump rubbish.”

ACTIONLINE:
