DEFACED road signs in Batu Tiga Industrial Park, Shah Alam, are causing confusion among motorists.
Most of the signs are covered with stickers, while some signs are not readable anymore due to rust and damage.
A regular visitor to Batu Tiga Industrial Park, Kamaruddin Hassan, said the situation had remained unchanged for years.
“I am sad to see the bad condition of some road signs.
“Not only are the road signs badly defaced and vandalised with stickers, some have become unreadable.
“The poles are also very rusty and have tilted.”
Kamaruddin mentioned road signs in Jalan Pegawai U1/33, Jalan Pekedai U1/27, Jalan Juruaudit U1/37 and Jalan Jurureka U1/40 as examples of those affected.
“Businessowners, customers and visitors here feel that it is time the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) send its officers to inspect the area.
“They need to repair or replace the road signs.”

Inspections by MBSA found that the road signs in the areas mentioned have, indeed, been defaced and are in bad shape.
The council has taken action to replace the poles and the signs.
MBSA hopes the residents and businessowners will ensure that the new signs are not vandalised by irresponsible people.
