MFPC announces Michael Kok as new president

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC) announced the appointment of Michael Kok Fook On as its new president at its 13th AGM today.

Kok replaces Md Adnan Md Zain, who described 2016 as the most successful year for the council since it was set up 13 years ago.

He also announced a new secretariat in Kota Damansara from Jan 1, 2018.

Kok has extensive experience in the insurance and financial planning industry, and has actively contributed to the development of financial planning education in Malaysia and the Asian region.

Awarded Fellow of the Malaysian Financial Planning Council, Kok will be responsible for the Council’s operation units nationwide, including the Sarawak, Penang and Johor chapters.

Others appointed to the committee were Vincent Kwo Shih Kang, who was elected deputy president; Phang Kar Yew (vice president of external relations and publicity), Victor Kho Chui Ing (vice president of membership), Assoc Prof Dr Ahcene Lahsana (vice president of research & publication), Andy Ng Yen Heng (treasurer) and Anuar Shuib as secretary.

A seminar with the theme of “9Ps Tips on How to Be a Top Performer Consistently” was also held today to discuss the performance of financial planners and the essential principles in building up and maintaining well-focused relationships with clients.
