ABM members assure sufficient cash in ATM facilities

KUALA LUMPUR: The Association of Banks in Malaysia (ABM), comprising 27 commercial banks in the country, has assured that there will be sufficient cash in ATM facilities to meet public demand over the holiday period on May 10 (today) and May 11.

In a statement here, the association said essential banking services such as telephone and Internet banking, ATM facilities, cheque deposit, giro and instant fund transfer based on prescribed schedule, would continue to be available to members of the public.

Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa has announced that May 10 (Thursday) and May 11 (Friday) were declared as special public holidays.

For states such as Terengganu, Kelantan, Kedah and Johor which observe Friday and Saturday as the weekend holidays, then Sunday, May 13 will be the additional public holiday. -- BERNAMA
