TDM's operation in Indonesia faces sanction

KUALA LUMPUR: TDM Bhd’s operation in Indonesian has faced sanction by Kalimantan Barat governor due to a fire incident.

The firm said its subsidiary PT Rafi Kamajaya Abadi had to stop activities at the affected areas of 900 hectares for three years.

“Rafi Kamajaya has to complete its fire prevention facilities and infrastructure within a period of 12 months from the date of the sanction, October 4,2019,” it said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia today.

TDM added that Rafi Kamajaya must submit a monthly report to the governor on the progress and improvement.

Rafi Kamajaya is consulting its solicitors to file an application to administrative courtin Indonesia for a review of the decree.

TDM was assessing the financial and operational impact on Rafi Kamajaya and the group arising from the sanction, it added.
