KL City, Kedah may face sanctions over salary issues

KUALA LUMPUR: KL City and Kedah have until the end of next week to submit documents related to salary arrears to the First Instance Body (FIB), according to Malaysian Football League (MFL) chief executive officer Datuk Stuart Ramalingam.

While KL City have already provided certain documents, FIB is awaiting submission from Kedah.

"I hope these teams will comply with whatever is decided by FIB," he said when met after the Back to School 2024 programme, organised by MFL and M-League sponsor AEON BIG today.

On Friday, Kuala Lumpur Football Association (KLFA) president Khalid Abdul Samad said the club still owes players their October and November salaries.

Kedah, on the other hand, reportedly owe their players four months in salary arrears.

MFL can take punitive action such as point deductions should the problem persist.

In the past, Melaka United, Sarawak United and Perak were docked points before the start of the season. - Bernama
