MAB offers new connectivity via LATAM's trans-Pacific services

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airlines Bhd (MAB) is now offering seamless connectivity options with a new codeshare agreement with LATAM Airlines Group to trans-Pacific services, effective this month.

The national carrier said customers allow to connect to Santiago, Chile via Auckland (New Zealand), Sydney (Australia) or Melbourne (Australia), which are now marketed with the Malaysia Airlines “MH” flight code.

MAB said LATAM customers will also be able to connect to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) via the same cities in Oceania on Malaysia Airlines flights carrying LATAM’s “LA” code.

MAB group chief executive officer Captain Izham Ismail said the agreement further reinforced the airline’s commitment to providing a greater choice in destination for its passengers.

“The services give the widest possible range of options for their travels. With this, we will be able to build our footprint in South America, with Chile acting as a gateway for Malaysians to explore the region,” he said in a statement today.

He added that the codeshare would allow international travellers experience the Malaysian’s culture and abundant nature that the country has to offer.

“We will ensure that their trip to Malaysia will be an amazing experience from the time they board our aircraft, with our signature Malaysian Hospitality,” he added.
