Telcos fully support Jendela initiative

KUALA LUMPUR: Telco companies are fully supportive of the government's Jalinan Digital Negara (Jendela) initiative to deliver seamless connectivity and reach for all Malaysians.

Telekom Malaysia Bhd group chief executive officer Imri Mokhtar said the group, with it unique role as the enabler of Digital Malaysia, would continue efforts to realise the government's aspirations.

Celcom Axiata Bhd chief executive officer Idham Nawawi welcomes the B40 initiative under the Jaringan Prihatin Program and said it had been in discussions with the Finance Ministry on an industry coordinated response to support the effort.

"We will continue to collaborate and work closely with all relevant parties in finalising a range of products and services, which will benefit our B40 customers," he said.

Maxis Bhd chief executive officer Gökhan Ogut said the group was encouraged by the government's ambition to provide greater access to connectivity for all and accelerate digitalisation, especially for businesses.

"Maxis remains committed to the government's Jendela plan with aspirations to deliver seamless digital connectivity for all Malaysians," he said.

"We also welcome the announcement to ease the financial burden of the B40 segment through connectivity-related products and services under Program Jaringan Prihatin." 

Digi.com Bhd said the company would participate actively in conversations to finalise the range of products and services which will best suit and benefit our B40 segment of customers.
