PR1MA proposes collaboration with Masdar to make its homes more sustainable

KUALA LUMPUR: Housing agency PR1MA Corporation Malaysia (PR1MA) has proposed a collaboration with Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) to make its homes and communities more sustainable.

The proposal outlines the intention to explore working together with a view to integrating cutting- edge clean energy technologies into PR1MA communities and developments.

Both entities aim to explore strategies for incorporating clean energy technologies into PR1MA communities and developments while ensuring a balance between economic feasibility and environmental sustainability.

PR1MA, in an official statement, said the planned collaboration aims to enhance PR1MA's capabilities to align with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles and address clean energy objectives within PR1MA developments and communities.

"PR1MA and Masdar have the ability to shape the future of sustainability, specific to PR1MA developments."We are excited about the positive impact our collaboration will potentially have on the well-being of PR1MA communities and residents, as well as how we can integrate these learnings into our future projects such as our Bandar Mini PR1MA in Teluk Intan," PR1MA chief executive officer Datuk Seri Nazri MD Shariff said.

The proposal was presented by Datuk Seri Nazri MD Shariff to Masdar president director, Indonesia Fatima Al Fatima Al Madhloum Al Suwaidi.

Minister of Local Government Nga Kor Ming said the proposed partnership between the two entities is a key stepping stone in making sustainability a reality for communities across Malaysia.

"In developing a community that is in line with the MADANI government's aspirations, collaborations that encourage innovations in the field of sustainability are important in order to improve the people's health and wellness, mobility, economic development, public safety and the overall quality of life," he said.
