TNB names Megat Jalaluddin Megat Hassan as new president & CEO

KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has appointed Megat Jalaluddin Megat Hassan as its new president and chief executive officer effective from March 1 next year. 

In its filing with Bursa Malaysia, TNB said Megat Jalaluddin will succeed Datuk Seri Baharin Din and serve his current position for two years until Feb 29, 2026.

"Baharin will relinquish his position as president and CEO of TNB, as well as his directorships of the relevant subsidiaries within the TNB group of companies," it said.

TNB's special shareholder, the Minister of Finance (Inc) today confirmed Megat Jalaluddin's appointment.

Megat Jalaluddin, aged 58, initially joined TNB in 2006, briefly moving to Celcom in 2008 and returning to the utility company in 2009.

Building his career within TNB, Megat Jalaluddin has served in various engineering and managerial capacities, including business and strategic planning, business development, project management, business process improvement, metering service and engineering service.
