BHIC Bofors to supply and deliver naval guns to Defence MInistry for another two years

KUALA LUMPUR:  BHIC Bofors Asia Sdn Bhd (BBA) has extended its contract with the Ministry of Defence Malaysia for the supply and delivery of spares, maintenance, and training for the Royal Malaysian Navy's Bofors 40MM/L70 Gun for another two years to Dec 31, 2025.

The contract has a ceiling value of RM21 million.

BBA is a joint venture between BHIC Defence Technologies Sdn Bhd (51 per cent) and BAE Systems Bofors Holdings Sdn Bhd (49 per cent).

"This extension marks a continued partnership between BBA and the Malaysian Ministry of Defence, reinforcing their commitment to the Royal Malaysian Navy's operational capabilities," Boustead Heavy Industries Corp Bhd said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

BBA received the letter of acceptance (LOA) for the supply and delivery of spares, maintenance and trainings for the Royal Malaysian Navy's Bofors 40MM/L70 Gun on Dec 41, 2020.

It was renewed for a period of three years on Jan 1, 2021 until Dec 31, 2023.

Rozi Baharudin and Ahmad Fazril Mohd Fauzi, who serves as the chief financial officer of BHIC, also hold director positions at BBA.
