KUALA LUMPUR: The Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) has introduced the Copyright to You (CR2U) initiative, designed to process certification and notification of voluntary copyright for the Malaysian creative industry to just 30 minutes.
The initiative facilitates swift certification and notification, reducing the previous three to six months processing time to just 30 minutes, contingent on specific terms and conditions.
MyIPO has received 6,020 copyright notification applications this year, highlighting the importance of recognising copyright as a vital asset in the creative economy.
MyIPO chairman YBrs. Ts. Dr. Mohd Zuhan Mohd Zain said the initiative is a proactive step by MyIPO to bring positive change to the copyright landscape in Malaysia.
"We strive to provide more responsive and efficient services to the creative community, in line with the rapid developments in this industry," he said at the CR2U launch today.
