Invest Selangor confident of securing RM1.3bil transactions from Selangor Aviation Show

PETALING JAYA: Invest Selangor Bhd is optimistic of achieving RM1.3 billion potential transaction value from Selangor Aviation Show 2024 (SAS 2024).

Selangor exco investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han said the SAS 2024 was expected to welcome a bigger international crowd ranging from 45 participating countries this year from 42 countries last year.

"This year we expect to attract 25,000 visitors, with more than 30 memorandum of understanding and sale of purchase agreement with potential transaction of RM1.3 billion from RM823 million last year."To date, the SAS 2024 has confirmed participation from 10 companies mainly from the region," Ng said at the press conference of SAS2024 here, today.

The fourth edition of SAS 2024 will be held from September 12 to 14 this year at the Skypark Regional Aviation Centre (RAC), Subang.

The theme of SAS 2024 is "The One & Only Business & General Aviation Show in the Region", with the aim to promote regional business aviation, general aviation, as well as drone related activities. Ng said SAS 2024 has expanded its size by adding additional hangars for the event, and offers several type of booth and chalets that aim to meet the preferences and demands of the industry players who are interested to participate. He said there will be a total of 52 shell scheme booths that will be made available for SAS 2024 participants, occupying a total of two hangars.

"This year we are targeting to have a total number of 250 booths this year from 220 last year," he said.

Meanwhile, Ng said SAS 2024 will also offer a range of chalet set ups for bigger participants wanting to have their own personalised discussion areas.

He said the SAS 2024 also anticipates a bigger participation of static aircraft displays, and hopes big original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and other major industry players will return with their latest aircraft for display in its show.

"This year, SAS will incorporate some new segment such as space technology as well as search and rescue to bring an additional layer of value, enriching the overall experience for all participants."Among the programs planned during SAS 2024 will be the Career in Aviation, a job placement fair that will feature 40 related companies in the industry seeking to find employees. "Interested secretariat (before May 31) will enjoy a five per cent early bird discount, while returning participating exhibitors may also enjoy a 10 per cent discount for their participation," he added.

The Selangor state government yet again plays host to SAS, a networking event for the aerospace and aviation industry players, especially from the Business and General Aviation segment.

In conjunction with the press conference, Business Aviation and General Aviation Association Malaysia, in short known as BAGAM, has also launched their association.

This association represents business aviation and general aviation players in Malaysia which create a community for them to gather and discuss industry trends, issues.

BAGAM will also act as a platform to collaborate with other industry players, network and event as well as becoming a collective voice for the industry to bring to regulators, government and agencies.
