MN Holdings appoints former TNB CEO Baharin Din as chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: MN Holdings Bhd has appointed Tenaga Nasional Bhd's former chief executive officer Datuk Seri Baharin Din as its new independent non-executive chairman, effective from today.

In its filing with Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd, the company said Baharin built his career in TNB of which he had served in various engineering and managerial positions within TNB, including business development, network maintenance, network planning, construction services, metering service and engineering services.

Subsequently, the company said Baharin worked in the Ministry of Energy, Telecommunication and Post Malaysia and served as Director of Electrical Inspectorate Department, Sabah and Director of Electrical Inspectorate Department, Pahang for two and a half years.

Baharin served as CEO of the national utility giant for three years from March 2021 to February 2024.

Baharin holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Syracuse and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Bond University, Sydney UNITEN, Malaysia.Ends
