BMW Group Malaysia unveiled the new BMW M2 Coupe to the local market on Thursday.
The new coupe is powered by a 3.0 litre M TwinPower Turbo in-line six-cylinder engine pushing out 370hp at 6,500rpm and a peak torque of 465 Nm with a short-term maximum of 500 Nm with overboost.
The staggering figures accelerate the pint sized M2 from standstill to 100kph in 4.3 seconds, and is electronically limited to 250kph.
The M2 features a newly designed front and rear. It has a modified front apron with large air inlets, an new bi-LED headlights in place of xenon units found in the outgoing model.
The exterior changes extend to the rear with M-specific twin exhaust tailpipes and newly designed all-LED taillights refreshing the rear end of the coupe.
The new coupe is also equipped with 19-inch aluminium wheels in M twin-spoke design.
In terms of interior, the car gets a new M-specific black instrument panel with contrast stitching which houses a new infotainment system with live tiles and touch screen capabilities.
The M2 gets an M leather ‘Walknappa’ steering wheel with M Drive buttons as well as interior trim bits in high-gloss carbon fibre.
The new lightweight M Sport suspension system has been tuned stiffer but retains ride comfort. Other enhancements include M Servotronic steering with two response settings and M compound brakes.

BMW’s new coupÈ is offered in Long Beach Blue, Black Sapphire, Alpine White and Mineral Grey. Interior and seat colour schemes are Dakota Black Leather with Contrast Stitching in Blue in M Sport seats for the driver and passenger.
