Volvo Malaysia appoints new MD

KUALA LUMPUR: Volvo Car Malaysia has appointed Nalin Jain to take over as the new managing director starting March 1.

Jain will continue the responsibilities of Lennart Stegland, who will be retiring after 40 years of service with Volvo Cars. Stegland has led positions in research and development, marketing and sales, and in managing various national sales companies.

Prior to this appointment, Jain was the chief financial officer of Volvo Auto India and has more than 20 years of experience in the automotive, consulting and technology fields.

He holds a master’s degree in engineering from State University of New York and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Sloan School of Management of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

“We would like to thank Stegland for his extraordinary contribution and dedication to the company — his wealth of knowledge and experience will be sorely missed,” said Volvo Car Malaysia.
