TC Subaru Sdn Bhd, the distributor of Subaru vehicles in Malaysia, has launched the Subaru XV GT edition with a price of RM130,788, excluding insurance.
The special edition was named ‘Most Exciting New Product’ at the recent Bangkok International Motor Show, which was held in March. Subaru XV GT edition is a result from the collaboration with engineering company Giken Co Ltd and former chief designer of Subaru Corporation Masahiko ‘Jack’ Kobayashi.
Based on the 2.0 i-P variant, the XV GT edition’s key features include a front bumper lip extension with integrated canards, side skirts, roof spoiler and rear bumper extension, to further enhance the sleek and sporty looks.
On top of that, the XV GT edition is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, leather seats, dual side view monitor system, X-Mode function, steering responsive headlights, front fog lamps, headlamp washers, LED headlamps with auto leveller, LED daytime running lights, powered folding side mirrors with LED turn signal, rear fog lamps, roof rails, shark fin antenna, and many more.
Powering the XV GT edition is the 2.0-litre four-cylinder 16-valve horizontally-opposed engine, mated to the lineartronic 7-speed CVT transmission. The XV GT edition offers 154hp at 6,000rpm and 196Nm of torque at 4,000rpm.
Safety features include seven-airbags, anti-lock braking system, electronic brake distribution, brake assist, vehicle dynamic control, hill start assist, reverse camera and ISOFIX childseat anchor points.
TC Subaru will also be taking advance bookings at the end of the month for the fifth generation Subaru Forester. The Forester, which will be launched in Malaysia in July, is the first completely knocked-down (CKD) model to be assembled at the newly launched Tan Chong Subaru Automotive (Thailand) plant.
The first 50 customers in Malaysia to book the all-new Subaru Forester will be given an all-expenses paid trip to Bangkok in December to visit the plant.
