New Xiaomi Mi A3 comes with triple camera

KUALA LUMPUR: Xiaomi has launched the Mi A3 smartphone.

From just having a dual lens camera in its predecessor Mi A2, this new device boasts a triple lens AI rear camera - a 48MP main lens, 8MP ultra wide angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor.

On the front, it has a 32MP AI selfie camera, which is an upgraded from the 20MP shooter in the previous model.

Operating with Android One, the phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor with 4GB of RAM. The phone comes with an option of 64GB or 128GB of storage that is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.

The Mi A3 sports a large 6.088-inch AMOLED Dot Drop display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

By doubling its pixel and sensor size, the in-screen fingerprint sensor offers increased reliability to minimise unlocking errors.

A large 4,030mAh battery capacity also allows for longer usage without the need to charge constantly. The device supports 18W fast charging via USB Type-C.

Interestingly, Xiaomi has also bring back the 3.5mm headphone jack on this model, to cater to fans’ demand.

The phone is available in three colour choices with fancy names like Kind of Grey, Not just Blue and More than White.

The 4GB+64GB and 4GB+128GB variants will retail at RM899 and RM999 respectively.

At the launch, Xiaomi also introduced its latest Mi Smart Band 4 which is said can last up to 20 days of use with a single charge.

More than a fitness partner, the device not only monitors steps, but also distance travelled, calories burned, heart rate and sleep.

Besides that, it also supports different sports modes such as running, cycling and swimming. Rated at 5 ATM, the Smart Band 4 is water resistant up to 50m.

Some of its useful smart features include music controls, event reminders and find device option (which can be utilised when connected to user’s smartphone).

The price of the Mi Smart Band 4 is RM149.
