KUALA LUMPUR: Just weeks after it was announced at CES 2020 in Las Vegas, US, the new Acer Spin 3 convertible laptop made its first appearance in Malaysia today during Acer Malaysia Celebrates 30th Anniversary event.
Featuring the latest processors in slimmer design, the Spin 3 is powered by 10th Gen Intel Core processor. Its 360-degree hinges allows professionals and students to effortlessly sketch, take notes, create content and share ideas.
Weighing at 1.5kg and measuring 16.9mm thin, the aluminium chassis is designed to fit easily into a briefcase or backpack. With a 14-inch touchscreen Full HD display, the laptop has 7.82mm thin bezels, offering a 78 per cent screen-to-body ratio for maximum real estate.
It also features a fast-charging stylus called the Acer Active Stylus. Using Wacom AES (active electrostatic) technology, the stylus is said to be able to replicate actual ink and paper with 4,096 pressure levels.
When not in use, the stylus can be kept in a convenient storage dock where it quick-charges. It can be used for 90 minutes of active writing after just a 15-second of charge.
The Acer Spin 3 with 10th Gen Intel Core i5 and 8GB RAM is priced at RM3,199, while the Intel Core i3, 4GB RAM variant is priced at RM2,699. Both variants will be available in March.
Besides the convertible laptop, Acer previewed the1.1kg Acer Travel Mate P614. Offering features such as up to 20 hours of battery life, the laptop enables productivity on-the-go without having to hunt for power sockets.
Developed as part of Intel’s “Project Athena”, the TravelMate P614 features special fast charge function that recharges up to 50 per cent within 45 minutes in case of emergency.
The TravelMate P614 also went through MIL-STD-810G and 810F military durability tests to ensure it can handle real-life situations that might occur inside and outside the office.
Other products announced at the event are world's first auto portrait LED projector, Acer C250i which comes with the unique twisted roll design that allows users to wirelessly project visuals anytime, anywhere; the CB342CK monitor that comes with 34-inch UltraWide QHD IPS display to deliver a natural and sharp visual experience; and Predator and Nitro gaming monitors for a complete gaming experience line-up with up to 240Hz refresh rates and lightning fast 0.1ms respond time for selected models.
