Louis Vuitton unveils new monogram

The Louis Vuitton monogram canvas is as iconic as it gets. Distinguished and clean, the print has decorated everything, from trunks and the World Cup trophy to the Neverfull and keyrings.

This year, women's collections artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière has redone the emblemetic canvas in a collection called Since 1854, to include the year the brand was founded, into its interlacing flowers.

The year 1854 is seen as a boundless symbol of a family driven by the sublimity of craftmanship. According to the brand, this newly-revisited canvas has "the gentle feel of old memories, like the time when Georges Vuitton designed the Monogram canvas

in homage of his father, creating a neo-gothic coat of arms inspired, in part, by the decor of their original home in Asnières."

The 8 has now become a petal, forming part of the canvas' heritage. The Monogram exudes the House's spirit on across iconic bags such as the Dauphine, Neverfull and Petit Noé. This signature also appears on essentials and accessories to celebrate the collection.
