Do you remember spending part of your childhood or adolescent years going through illustration books of Where's Waldo to find a skinny gentleman dressed in a red striped shirt and hat with glasses who often finds himself joyfully lost among large crowds when he sets off on his traveling adventures?
From the pages of the books, you can hunt for Waldo on Vans' shoes and apparel too. The brand paid homage to the classic series, presenting a collection of footwear, apparel for men, women and kids in their new collaboration called The Vans x Where's Waldo.
One of Waldo's most popular scenes from his travel adventures, 'the beach' makes its appearance on Vans' Classic Slip-Ons.
"The colourful outdoor scene is offset with contrast red piping on the tongue with navy-blue foxing, a colour scheme that echoes back to Waldo's signature outfit of choice," says the brand in its press release.
This beach scene also makes its appearance on the kids' t-shirt, where the graphic is paired against a blue short-sleeve t-shirt.
Another shoe, Vans' classic Authentic presents a Land of Waldos edition, taken from the first book called The Great Waldo Search where it pays homage to Waldo's hometown.
Vans' Era silhouette features a postage stamp pattern that showcases Where's Waldo characters and the Sk8-Hi selection features Waldo's arch nemesis, Odlaw who is Waldo's evil twin.
As for Vans' Old Skool shoes, the signature red and white stripe uppers are complemented with a white sidestripe and its midsole is printed with international versions of the series such as France's 'Ou est Charlie?'.
Kids can choose from t-shirts that feature Waldo characters or hoodies and snapback hats that say 'I Found Waldo'.
Another interesting item from the collection is the red and white ringer tee and jockey hat which each carries a hidden Waldo surprise.
