(Showbiz) South Korean group BTS makes a surprise appearance at The Chainsmokers concert in Seoul last night

KUALA LUMPUR: South Korean hip-hop act BTS and American electronic duo The Chainsmokers recently sent their fans into a frenzy when they announced they would be working together on a song.

Fuelling their anticipation further, BTS turned up at The Chainsmokers' concert in Seoul last night.

Taking the stage, the seven-member outfit entertained the crowd as they performed The Chainsmokers' hit Closer with the American artiste.

The Chainsmokers had given a hint of sorts to its Twitter followers hours before the concert when it tweeted "Tonight will be full of surprises".

After the event, the duo posted a group photo of themselves with BTS with the caption: "Amazing night with these boys! Love you guys for coming through and supporting us! And very excited for your Album!"

BTS in turn posted a short clip of their meeting after the concert on its Twitter account.

Videos of BTS' appearance at the concert were soon circulated on social media.

Held at Jamsil Arena, the show was the first of The Chainsmokers' two concerts in the South Korean city.

It was announced on Monday that Andrew Taggart of The Chainsmokers had worked on the song Best Of Me with BTS' rappers Rap Monster, Suga and J-Hope.

The EDM-fused track will be included in BTS' upcoming EP Love Yourself "Her", set for a Sept 18 release.
