(Showbiz) No to lead roles if heroes are younger than me - actress Rita Rudaini

KUALA LUMPUR: For actress Rita Rudaini, to spar with a younger leading actor may look mismatched and amuse viewers.

In a recent news report, the 41-year-old said she would not want to spar with heroes younger than her in both the small and big screens.

“When I’m offered a leading role, I do make sure of this. I don’t want both of us feel awkward while acting due to age difference,” said Rita who most of the time is given room to make suggestions to the production teams.

“Things like this should not be taken lightly. Sometimes, there are even actresses playing mother roles; but look as young as their children. Overlooking important details like this may end up being laughed at by viewers.”

“If and when I get offered a role opposite a much younger actor, I’d politely decline the job especially when it is obvious that such combo is inappropriate,” said the Perlis-born actress who’s had several relationships with younger men before.
