(Showbiz) AOA's Seolhyun offers meaningful donation for deaf students

KUALA LUMPUR: It’s almost the end of the year and Seolhyun, of popular South Korean girl group AOA, has delivered a generous gift to mark the ending of 2017.

According to a news report by Soompi, yesterday, Seolhyun’s agency FNC Entertainment revealed that the girl group member had donated 50 million KRW (about RM190,000) to the Seoul School for the Deaf as a scholarship for its students.

The donation was more meaningful because Seolhyun, 22, had formed a close relationship with the students after working on a recent project from a mobile music channel.

An FNC Entertainment representative said: “Seolhyun said she felt many things after seeing the students enjoy music while they interpreted the lyrics in sign language. She decided to donate with the hope that the students would be able to study and develop in a better environment.”

Apparently, Seolhyun had previously also donated 50 million KRW to the Pohang earthquake relief efforts. Additionally, Seolhyun participated in a donation campaign to support the education of children overseas with fellow AOA member Jimin this past Christmas.
