KUALA LUMPUR: Vocal powerhouse Dayang Nurfaizah started the new year with a bang with a sold-out debut concert in Singapore last night.
“Initially I was a little nervous but I am touched when I was informed that all tickets were sold,” she said on the 1,500 strong crowd at the concert organised by Esplanade-Theatres on the Bay.
The 36-year-old singer performed 25 of her hits during the two-hour show held at the Esplanade Concert Hall, reported Harian Metro Online.
“I’m here because of my fans and it is because of them that this concert is materialised,” she added.
The recipient of Anugerah Juara Lagu’s Best Vocal for three consecutive years opened the concert by singing her hit Seandainya Masih Ada Cinta.
Her song repertoire which also featured songs suggested by her fans, included a medley of tune composed by the late Datuk Adnan Abu Hassan as well as evergreen classics such as Selamat Tinggal Bungaku, Syurga Di Telapak Kaki Ibu and Fatwa Pujangga.
